NEXE CROATIA BACKYARD ULTRA 2027

The last runner wins.

NEXE Croatia Backyard Ultra is a unique elimination-format ultramarathon where speed is not the deciding factor, but endurance, strategy and mental strength.

Competitors must complete one 6.706-metre (4.167-mile) loop every hour in less than 60 minutes. After completing the loop, they use the remaining time to rest and prepare for the next challenge.

⏰ A new loop starts exactly on the hour, and the race continues until only one competitor remains on the course.

📍 Location: Lake Lapovac Dam, Našice

Lake Lapovac is located approximately 3 km southeast of the centre of Našice. Surrounded by nature, it is designed for recreation and sport and provides an ideal setting for a Backyard Ultra.

🥾 The loop around the lake is 6.706 metres long, has only 20 metres of elevation gain, and the surface is a combination of dirt and fine gravel.

Race rules

🛤️ Course

✅ 6.706 m loop course

✅ each loop must be completed within one hour

🔔 Start

A new loop starts every 60 minutes
warnings are given 3, 2 and 1 minute before the start
all competitors must be in the starting area before the bell
❌ no late starts
🏃 During the loop
the course may not be left except in an emergency
❌ assistance outside the official aid station is prohibited
❌ eliminated competitors may not run or remain on the course
🏆 Winner

🏅 The winner is the last competitor who successfully completes an additional loop after all other competitors have been eliminated.

All other competitors finish the race with DNF status.

Participation requirements

✔️ minimum age 18 years

✔️ minors may participate with written parental consent and approval from the organiser

✔️ participation is at your own risk with a signed liability waiver

✔️ valid health insurance is mandatory

✔️ by registering, you accept all race rules

Safety

a competitor who withdraws must immediately notify the organiser
the organiser is not responsible for lost belongings or damaged equipment

Photography

By collecting your race number, you consent to photographs and videos taken during the race being used for promotional purposes.

Entry fee

🟢 Early registration – €60 until 1 April 2027

🟡 Regular registration – €70 until 15 May 2027

🟠 Late registration – €75 until 14 June 2027

🔴 Race day – €70 (without the race package, if places are still available).

❗ Entry fees are non-refundable.

👥 Race capacity: 200 competitors

Registration closes once the capacity is reached.
